An American friend asked me to teach him Taiwanese. He asked me how to say "nine"九.
I said kgao.
He then asked me how to say "thick"厚.
I said kgao.
He then asked me how to say "dog"狗.
I said kgau.
He then asked me how to say "monkey"猴.
I said kgao.
He then asked me how to say "arrive"到.
I said kgao.
He then asked me how to say "enough"夠.
I said kgao.
He then asked me how to say "hook"鈎.
I said kgao.
From that day onward, he never asked me about learning Taiwanese again.
